Day 13-Lamayuru to Leh

Day 3 Lamayuru-Nimmu-Leh 24th Sep 2014
Home stay at Lamayuru was a memorable stay.It had a lovely garden in the middle courtyard with lots of flowers and apple tree.No restriction on apple plucking and trees were laden with small size apple variety. We had already settled our bill previous night after dinner so that we could move out early without bothering our host family.Within minutes of moving ahead, famous Moonland forced us to stop and do some random photography.

After spending some moments at moonland,we marched ahead towrads Basgo Plains on NH1D. Basgo Plains (I call it ROOF OF THE WORLD) came and here we had a very long day in shiny daylight and snapped each others’ portraits to our full capacity. This vast straight road spanning for many kilometers always fascinates me and force me to spend some moments and click photos. After very long stay at Basgo plains we ahead nad visited Guudwara Patthar Sahib,we also spent some moments at Sangam at Nimmu.

We covered Lamayuru-Leh section quite a relaxed pace and reached Leh around 7 in the night.Settled in Guest House for 700 bucks.Dumped our luggage, washed our faces, had bath and dashed towards Shanti Stupa.Came back from Stupa after bad photo session only to find all alchohol shops closed due to Purnima (full moon).Isnt it strange reason for a dry day.Bar were also not serving liquor.Non veg dishes were also not allowed to be served in restaurant on this day and we had to go all veg in Dogra Dhaba.

Another very exciting day of my 2014 scooter ride comes to an end.Tomorrow,we will visit highest motorable road in the world.
